Privacy policy
Cart to Spreadsheet is developed by Jonathan Capone. It helps you review Amazon cart items and export them to an Excel spreadsheet.
Information the extension handles
When you click the extension button on an Amazon cart, the extension reads the active cart's product names, quantities, product links and identifiers, options, bundle information, and available image links. It also records that cart page's address and capture time. The recorded page address excludes query parameters and fragments.
The extension processes PDF or HTML cart files and Excel templates you choose to import. It also handles the item edits, confirmations, and order details you enter, including requester or teacher names and department information. Imported templates may contain personal information you have included in the file.
This processing takes place in your browser. The extension has no developer-operated server, analytics, advertising, AI service, account system, or file-upload endpoint. Jonathan Capone does not receive your cart contents, imported files, exported spreadsheets, or saved preferences through the extension.
The extension does not access Chrome's browsing-history database or monitor unrelated pages. It does not read cookies, passwords, or payment details, and does not change your cart or place orders.
Storage and deletion
- Up to eight captured carts, including their page addresses and capture times, are kept in Chrome's session storage. Older captures may be removed. Chrome clears this storage when the browser closes or the extension is reloaded, disabled, or updated.
- Your theme, column layout, order defaults, and template mapping are saved in extension storage on this device. Chrome sync storage is not used. You can change these values in Settings.
- The Excel template you select is saved on this device in IndexedDB until you replace it, choose Remove template, or uninstall the extension.
- Item edits and confirmations are kept in the open review tab, rather than saved as an ongoing draft. Download the spreadsheet before closing the tab if you need to retain them.
- Uninstalling the extension removes its stored settings and template. Downloaded files remain where you saved them until you delete them. Original imported files are not modified.
Product photos and Amazon
Product thumbnails, listing previews, and Excel photo exports can request images directly from supported Amazon image hosts over HTTPS. Amazon receives your IP address, the requested image address, and ordinary network request metadata. These requests do not include a referring page address. The extension does not determine or store your location.
For Excel exports with photos, available images are downloaded without credentials, resized in your browser, and embedded in the downloaded workbook so they can be viewed offline. Missing or blocked images are labeled. Listing previews use details captured from the cart and may become outdated.
Opening a product link visits Amazon normally and is subject to Amazon's privacy practices. The extension does not load remote executable code or use a third-party product-research service.
Copying to Excel or Google Sheets
When you choose a copy action in the school layout, the extension writes the selected item details or photo formulas to your clipboard. It does not read your clipboard. You control where the copied data is pasted.
Copied photo formulas use Amazon image addresses. When you paste them into Google Sheets, Sheets loads those images over the internet. Data you paste into another application or save in a cloud service is then handled by that application's or service's privacy practices. The extension does not connect to your Google account or upload a spreadsheet to Google itself. Clipboard data may remain in your operating system's clipboard history until you clear it.
Chrome permissions
- activeTab: temporary access to the current cart tab after you click the extension button.
- scripting: runs the bundled cart reader on that tab to extract cart details for review and export.
- storage: saves local preferences and holds captured carts temporarily while you review them.
The extension does not request broad website host permissions.
Use and sharing
Cart and file data are used for cart review, spreadsheet creation, and the copying features described above. They are not sold, used for advertising, used to train AI models, or transferred to data brokers. They are not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Cart to Spreadsheet's use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
